Tips on what to do and not to do after dental implants:
Eat and drink only soft foods and liquids for the first 48 hours after surgery. Take all prescribed medicines as your dentist has directed. For the first 24 hours, don't rinse your mouth. Then, after meals, gently rinse your mouth with warm salt water.

Post implant instructions
The feeling of numbness will begin to wear off in 30 minutes to 4 hours.
Do not eat anything at all.
Extraction site may bleed slightly or ooze blood for 12 to 24 hours.
A folded cotton pack has been placed on the surgical site.
The cotton pack should be held with firm pressure for 1 hour.
This will help halt the bleeding
Saliva tinged with blood is normal for 1-2 days.
For the first 2-8 hours after surgery, ice pack should be applied intermittently.
It should be applied outside of the face over the area of surgery.
This will help reduce discomfort and swelling.
Do not gargle for the first 24 hours following surgery.
A cold and soft diet should be adhered to for the first 12 -24 hours.
It’s important to to drink plenty of liquid for the couple of days.
Avoid the use of straw as it may dislodge the blood clot ar site.
Clean the rest of your mouth as usual.
Avoid bumping or brushing the surgical site.
Avoid touching and feeling the surgical site.
Do not smoke for the first 24 hours following surgery.
Avoid spitting for 24 hours, swallow your spittle.
