I spent a little time playing around with the Psunami After Effects plugin by Red Giant, Noise Industries' FXFactory Pro, and Yanobox Nodes. Pretty amazing results, eh?
Most of these were started by one of the software presets, and then customized by playing with the settings, blending different effects (like adding glow or rays), and/or adding my own customized elements (for instance, the moon was my own shot of a full moon, and the stars were hand painted in Photoshop).
