The Apex install (& dismantle) team was called in to tear down the rack systems and clear the warehouse of a leading national hardware cooperative that was consolidating its distribution facilities. We accomplished the task in six short weeks and saved a tremendous amount of pallet rack uprights, beams, and accessories that will be repurposed for use in other facilities.

A leading national hardware cooperative recently launched a major supply chain restructuring effort, which included consolidating several facilities and closing one of its smaller retailer support warehouses in the Baltimore area. The Apex install (& dismantle) team was called in to tear down the rack systems and clear the warehouse.
Pallet rack systems included:
• Selective pallet rack
• Pick modules – 2-deep push-back with wire deck on lower levels for piece picking
• Drive-in pallet rack
• Cantilever rack
As you can see from the pictures below, an abundance of the pallet rack was in great shape, ideal for repurposing for future use. The rack that was too damaged to save was removed and recycled.
Ultimately, over 62,000 beams and 5,000 pallet rack frames were saved! There were also 9000 pallet supports, over 14,000 wire decks, and other building materials that will go on to find a new warehouse home. Apex completed the entire takedown in 6 weeks. Well done, Apex team.
