This is the first episode in a series of old cartoons from the late 60s through to the late 80s based upon the classic novels adapted to animated form - in this case "Treasure Island" (1971) from the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson.
This idea sprang from the previous series I did of classic Jules Verne cartoons, inspired by those cartoons and two of the companies which made them. Air Programs International were an Australian studio making Jules Verne cartoons and more from the very end of the 60s through to the early 80s. Then came Burbank Films, also Austrlian, who continued these cartoons throughout the 80s, although as of yet I can find no official link between the two companies beyond their country of origin.
I have found over fifty classic stories from these two companies.
I intend to restore the sound and video as best I can and show them all here in this YouTube series.
I hope they are enjoyed by all.
Take care.
Doctor Alex
