WHY COOK PASTA IN THE INSTANT POT?
No need to strain the pasta after it’s done because the pasta will absorb all of the water as it cooks.Set it and forget it. There’s no need to keep an eye on the pot to make sure it doesn’t boil over. Just turn the machine on and walk away. today we will use instant pot as more of a background player to prep for our Classic American DELI STYLE macaroni Salad.

INGREDIENTS:
16 oz box elbow macaroni [ Ссылка ]
4 cups of water
1 tsp salt
1 tsp oil
2 tbsp white sugar or to taste
2 cup mayonnaise [ Ссылка ]
2 tbsp or more dijon mustard
2 tablespoons diced olives
2 tbsp finely diced scallions
1/2 cup diced carrots
1/2 cup diced apples
1/2 cup pineapple tidbits
1/2 cup diced red onions
1/2 cups diced green Bell peppers
1/4 cup each red and yellow bell peppers
1 tbsp white distilled vinegar
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard [ Ссылка ]
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
garlic pepper seasoning to taste or 1 tsp
DIRECTIONS:
1. In the inner pot add elbow pasta add water salt and oil.spread it evenly.
select Manual or high-pressure cook for 5 minutes. do a quick release.
2. Pressure cook on high.
3. place the pasta in the colander and run cold water to stop the cooking process.
4. bring the past to the room temperature there should be no excess water before mixing.
5.in a large mixing bowl add mayonnaise an all the ingredients. mix well until all the veggies and pasta are fully incorporated.
6. Place into the refrigerator for 2 hours or up to 2 days.
Serve cold.
Tips and tricks for cooking pasta in the instant pot.
Find the recommended cook time on any box. Start with the lowest, number in the range. Divide in half. Subtract one minute if you like your pasta a bit chewy, add a minute if you like your pasta soft or well done
For this specific recipe, I like to make elbow pasta well done.
Notes
*If you don't have white vinegar on hand, apple cider vinegar would also work well.
Additional Add-ons consider Cheese, sour cream, eggs or any meat.
