Low oil pressure will cause irreversible damage to your vehicle. Don’t drive it with an oil light on. The Chevy 1.8L has a plastic valve that gets brittle overtime causing low oil pressure while you’re at idle. How to tell; as you increase the rpm (speed) the pressure increases temporarily. Overall it’s an easy repair.
