The central point of the Polish War Cemetery in Katyn is the Gate of Remembrance. Its cast-iron surface is inscribed with the names of the victims engraved in the form of printing fonts. It is a symbol of a mechanically executed Crime, just like the names of the Polish prisoners of war, who were sentenced to death, were mechanically typed on a typewriter.
