Enneagram Type Two with Wing One, "The Companion": Overview

The Enneagram type 2 wing 1: The Companion, is a subtype resulting from the encounter of the type 2 and 1, which means that they are very concerned about other people’s needs. The empathy that characterizes this type, allows them to easily identify when someone is suffering and, without saying a word, they give a hand. They are selfless but without losing their own needs out of sight, also they are objective and try to focus on how to cope with things in the best way.

The 2W1 would leave the rice cooking to go help somebody that needs help. Taking care is natural for them, it comes from their bones and they can’t deal with it. They serve, and are hospitable, to the point to put themselves at last. But with the influence of the 1, they become a little more self-centered. They will run after the ones who need them, but first they will turn off the pot so the rice won’t burn. That’s the specific attribute of the enneagram type 2 wing 1, they don’t forget themselves in order to be always able for everybody, they know that taking care of themselves allows them to take care of others in a better way.
