During measurements lasting several hours or days, exposure to accidental damage to the test leads increases. Crushing, cutting or shorting with a conductive element by third parties may occur during the absence of the electrician. This creates the danger of damage to the meter and unexpected interruption of measurements. In addition, damage to the test leads can lead to tripping of protections in the supply path, which causes the tested object to be de-energized. This involves additional costs and operational problems.
Most meters have their own protections, however, their replacement usually involves sending the device for servicing or troublesome disassembly of the housing.
That is why the SONEL has introduced into its offer universal test leads with a built-in fuse socket. Appropriate connections allow the use of additional protection of the meter or protection of the tested object against unnecessary power off.
CAT IV 1000 V test lead is suitable for most SONEL meters, and the detachable socket can be equipped with various types of fuses, enabling the use of protection selectivity.
