The return home of ethnic Albanian refugees to the former K-L-A stronghold of Malisevo ended in tragedy on Tuesday, when one person was killed and two severely injured after they stepped on landmines.
Hundreds of refugees have begun heading home after the evacuation of Serbian forces from their towns and villages.
But critics have insisted that President Milosevic is not withdrawing his forces, but redeploying them.
The news that Serbian troops have begun withdrawing from Kosovo has encouraged many hundreds of Albanian refugees to return to their homes.
Convoys of families on tractors laden with belongings could be seen making their way down from safe havens.
But the joy of finding their homes intact was marred when three refugees stepped on a landmine in the former K-L-A stronghold of Malisevo.
One man died at the scene, two others have been taken to hospital.
The cruel irony was that E-U monitors had been touring the area telling people that the area was now safe to live in.
The convoys of Serb coaches and trucks seen snaking along roads from Pristina continue.
Men and supplies go by road.
Heavy armaments and armoured personal carriers get loaded onto trains.
President Milosevic appears to have accepted the threat of military force from NATO and begun to comply with United Nations resolutions.
But Albania political leaders insist that far from leaving Kosovo, Serb troops are merely being redeployed to positions elsewhere.
