02:09 Summary
We are delighted to showcase here a 1987 AM V8 Vantage X-PACK that has been subject to a number of cosmetic and mechanical upgrades at our Service and Aftercare department.
This motorcar is one of just 131 V8 Vantage 580 X-PACK versions to be built between 1986 and 1989. With iconic styling and stunning performance, coupled with a very limited production, these cars are gaining worldwide recognition and appreciation and are now established as a collector's car.
This particular example was sold by Nicholas Mee & Company in 2013. Acting on our client's instructions, we have performed and managed a number of upgrades to this car. Originally specified in right hand drive, this V8 Vantage has been converted to left hand drive, a project managed by ourselves in conjunction with our trim specialists. This has included the fitting of a new left hand drive steering rack, dashboard, kilometre speedo pack and windscreen wiper conversion. Whilst the interior was stripped, we have taken the opportunity to renew the carpets throughout.
The next stage of this project is to change the exterior colour of the car. Originally specified in Aston Martin Solsbury Blue, the car was stripped back to bare metal and repainted in the most attractive Rolls Royce Royal Blue, a very popular colour in period and increasingly so now with the current collector audience.
Finally, as this vehicle will be exported to the warm, dry climate of the Middle East, we have designed and installed a custom cooling solution, which has incorporated a replacement radiator with high capacity thin walled alloy core, a twin electric fan pack neatly installed in the front of the engine bay compartment and a replacement 74 degree centigrade thermistor. The end result of these works is a solution to make the car more suitable for the high temperatures in the client's home territory.
The quality of the works carried out is to the highest Aston Martin heritage standards and we are now sure that the client will be delighted with this most attractive, rare and highly desirable British supercar.
If you are considering any cosmetic or mechanical works to any 1970s or 1980s era V8 Aston Martin, we would be delighted to hear from you.
