Gennadiy Mokhnenko is a pastor and founder of Republic Pilgrim, a children's drug rehabilitation center in Mariupol, Ukraine. Gennadiy gained attention as a vigilante during the early 2000's, as he would take to the streets and gather up kids that were falling victim to a lethal drug epidemic. Without anyones permission he essentially abducted these kids, many of them orphans, and took them to his rehabilitation center. In this process he adopted 33 of these kids and raised them in his own home.
Pilgrim Republic has grown over the years and now takes rehabilitated kids on adventures around the world in an effort to promote adoption. Gennadiy tells us that drugs are no longer the main concern for him and the kids, instead it is the war with Russia that is going on only a few miles from his home.
