Will Sharpe, creator of hit Channel 4 sitcom Flowers, discusses working with Olivia Colman, the genre of his show – “comedy with a mental illness” – and how putting in the hours will get you far. He also explores how you can constantly look for opportunities to improve your writing.
Will Sharpe started his career in theatre with the Royal Shakespeare company, before moving into filmmaking. A short film in 2009 swiftly progressed to a feature, both co-written with filmmaker Tom Kingsley, which earned the pair a BAFTA nomination for Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer. He has since worked on creating his own series for Channel 4 in Flowers.
Catch up on seasons 1 & 2 of the award winning comedy Flowers on All 4.
