In view of increasing landslides at Joshimath Town in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, 21 families were evacuated to safer locations last night. Out of 21 families, four families were shifted to Marwari primary school, one family was sent to Joshimath development block and 16 families were moved to Joshimath Municipal Corporation.

People in the city are immensely alarmed as huge cracks have appeared in the houses of the area through which underground water is slipping in.
