Detectives investigating the sexual and indecent assault of a teenage girl in a fast food restaurant carpark in Sydney's south have released CCTV footage of a group of males they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.
Shortly before 5am on Sunday (20 April 2014), police were called to a fast food restaurant on the Princes Highway in Heathcote after a 15-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by a male at the southern end of the restaurant's carpark.
It is believed the girl had been speaking to a group of seven males inside the fast food restaurant from about 4am.
Around 4.20am, the girl was led from the restaurant by one of the males. He took her to the southern end of the restaurant's car-park and sexually assaulted her.
Police and emergency services were called to the location, and the girl was transported to Sydney Children's Hospital, Randwick, for treatment.
An investigation into the incident has commenced under Strike Force Vadno and is being led by detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse Squad.
Investigators have today released CCTV footage and images depicting a number of people who were believed to be at the restaurant around the time of the assault. Investigators believe some of these people may be able to assist with their inquiries.
Detectives have released three CCTV stills and two files of moving CCTV footage.
The first CCTV still image depicts a male aged in his late teens or twenties, with dark hair. In the image, he appears to have a cigarette in his mouth and is shown wearing a blue/grey shirt with the sleeves rolled up and dark jeans.
The second CCTV still image depicts a male aged in his late teens or twenties. He has short dark hair and was wearing a dark v-neck t-shirt with a print on the front, dark jeans and white shoes.
The third CCTV still image depicts two males. The first male appears to be aged in his twenties and has short, dark hair. In the image he is shown wearing a short-sleeved, checked shirt, dark jeans and dark shoes, and carrying a drink in his right hand. The second male in the CCTV still image appears to be aged in his twenties and has a dark beard. In the image, he appears to be wearing a red open neck shirt or t-shirt, with a dark jacket.
The first file of rolling CCTV depicts a dark, blue sedan arriving at the restaurant carpark shortly before 3.30am on Sunday. After the car is parked, three males exit the vehicle and walk into the restaurant.
The second file of rolling CCTV depicts a group of males standing outside the main entry to the restaurant.
Police believe some of the males depicted in the CCTV may be able to assist with detectives' inquiries, and ask the males, or anyone who recognises them, to contact Crime Stoppers.
