In Chester, the charity Ready Generations is working alongside the Shirley Chisholm Institute in New York, Live Cheshire and HealthBox to celebrate the 100th Birthday of civil rights activist and social justice champion, Shirley Chisholm who would have been 100 on the 30th November. One of Shirley's most well known quotes is:

Through the Whose Truth Travels project local Chester charitable groups, schools and early years settings have come together to design and make chairs that represent their unique community stories and extend Chisholm's legacy far beyond the borders of the United States.
