I took a trip with @Karl's Thailand to Wat Chon Phran in Pottaram District, Ratchaburi Province, a place where people usually come to see the millions of bats fling out of the caves every evening at dusk. f you've ever seen this incredible spectacle before, then I am sure you have wondered where they come from!!? Well, you don't have to anymore as we climbed above the caves and then deep inside the lair of 100 million bats. Pun after pun filled my head - "from holy corona batman, we hit the motherload," to "holy crap, that's some good sh^t".
I had heard that bat scientists had been here over the last year to study the bats for traces of the 'virus that must not be named'. Did it originate here? Are bats dangerous? Let's find out!
I've got to be honest - I have been to some ridiculously creepy places around the world but this ranks up there with the best/worst. The feeling of millions of bats flying around your head is a somewhat peculiar, somewhat terrifying ans somewhat spectacular experience.
