Ever since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1990 the area along the Polish and Lithuanian border, between Russia's semi-enclave Kaliningrad and Russia's ally Belarus, has been contested. The corridor of land in referred to as the Suwalki Gap, or Suwalki Corridor, and since the Russian invasion of the Ukraine in February 2022, the Suwalki Gap has been the geo-political hotspot of the EU and the most dangerous region of the EU. As I need to travel from Kaunas in Lithuania to Mazuria in Poland, there is no other option for me than to travel right through it. What will happen?
