We are making thin tile countertops by hand.

Your friendly neighborhood tile guy here with a new series on gauged porcelain tile panels (GPTP). In this first video we want to show you how we cut the pieces of tile to shape to use on countertops.

GPTP is the perfect choice for countertops due to its excellent durability, stain resistance heat resistance and UV resistance. Once the countertops are installed they will provide you with many years of use without headaches of maintaining them.

We are using a Sigma Kera Cut snap cutter to score and snap the tiles into the desired dimensions to prep them for installation. The next video will show you how we miter the edges and mount the tile to the substrate. The third video will highlight our epoxy edge coating and polishing technique. You will then see how the countertops will be installed in our customers home.
