ONE OF THE BEST ON SOUND CARRIER!
Membran released some years ago a complete 1955 radio version with Rudolf Schock & Dorothea Siebert in the leading roles.
I mixed this 1955 radio recording for my videos with some studio recordings from 1952, 1957 and 1971.
The sound of the 1955 recording is more than sufficient, but in my opinion it would improve even more with a "warmer" digitalisation.
The performance itself under Werner Schmidt-Boelcke is one of the absolute best of Franz Lehár's 'Land of Smiles' on sound carrier!
