. India is rapidly moving on the path of a digital revolution powered by a young population with a median age in the 20s, increasing broadband and internet penetration, exponential data uptake, and, most importantly, the government’s focus on digitalization. The Digital Revolution in India started with the Government of India initiating the Digital India programme in July 2015 to transform India into a digitally enabled knowledge-based economy. There are Digital options i. e. Agricultural websites (nau.in, jau.in, aau.in, sdau.in, etc) Mobile applications, Agricultural QR codes, Social media platforms for transfer of agricultural information to farmers. Most of the studies identified mobile phones as being the widely used ICT tool within the agriculture sector. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) supports farmers by facilitating access to markets through real-time data on market prices, weather forecasts (Meghdoot mobile application), information on pests-diseases, selection of area wise crop varieties, methods of soil preparation, methods of fertilizer application and planting techniques. Farmers can also avail information about government schemes and apply for the same by using online platforms like i-khedut portal with the help of Village Level Extension Workers (Gram Sevak) at village level. Specifically, in the agriculture and food sector, the spread of mobile-based technologies, remote-sensing services and distributed computing are already improving farmers’ access to information, inputs and markets, increasing production and productivity, streamlining supply chains and reducing operational costs. From the trend of digitalization in Agriculture, it is true that “Agricultural information is on finger tips” by using mobile-based technologies.
