3D Printing Ally is a service bureau based in Eden Prairie, Minnesota.
In this video, we focus on an industrial FDM printer from Stratasys.
Tyler Pope shows us the Fortus 400mc. It features dual extrusion, a heated build chamber and a vacuum that holds the build plate in place. Once a part of a build plate has been used, it cannot be used again.
One of the more interesting materials it can run is Ultem, which is a thermoplastic well-suited for many applications. Support material can be water soluble, which allows for much easier cleanup of complex designs.
Tyler started on the original MakerBot Replicator, but needed more reliability and large print capability. "If you want industrial grade parts, you really need an industrial grade machine."
