■ CENTREPOINT METRO STATION:
Centrepoint Metro Station is a rapid transit station on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro in Dubai, UAE. The eastern terminus of the line, it is one of 3 metro stations with a park and ride lot, the others being Etisalat and Jabal Ali. The station was previously known as Rashidiya, on 4th August 2021 it was renamed as Centrepoint. Centrepoint station is located in Al Rashidiya, a community of eastern Dubai. A residential area, most points of interest near the station are schools and community centres, although Centrepoint is the closest Metro station to the Dubai Airport Expo. The Dubai Royal Air Wing of the Dubai International Airport is located quite close to the station. As one of the initial stations of the Dubai Metro, Centrepoint opened on 9 September 2009; trains ran to Nakheel Harbour and Tower and served seven intermediate stations. In 2011, Centrepoint handled 2,634,139 passengers, making it one of the busiest stations on the Dubai Metro. Centrepoint is one of the few stations of the Dubai Metro classed as a type 3 elevated station, indicating it has three tracks rather than the usual two. This allows trains to be held and stored easily. The tracks to and from Centrepoint parallel the southern side of Airport Road, continuing eastward to one of the network's depots.
■ SOBHA REALTY METRO STATION:
Sobha Realty Metro Station is a rapid transit station on the Red Line of the Dubai Metro in Dubai. It opened on 30 April 2010 as Dubai Marina and part of the extension to Ibn Battuta. Sobha Realty station is located near Interchange 5 of Sheikh Zayed Road, around 20 kilometres (12 mi) southwest of Downtown Dubai. It lies to the east of the northern half of the Dubai Marina and to the west of the northern portion of Jumeirah Lake Towers. Originally named Dubai Marina, the station was named after the development of the same name, one of the largest projects in Dubai. Upon completion, the Dubai Marina will house around 120,000 residents around the world's largest artificial marina. Also nearby are the Jumeirah Lake Towers and The Meadows developments.
The station was renamed DAMAC Properties on September 19, 2014. The station was renamed to Dubai Marina on November 24, 2020 (again). On 9th August 2021, this station was renamed as Sobha Realty. Sobha Realty station lies on a viaduct paralleling the eastern side of Sheikh Zayed Road. It is categorised as a type 2 elevated station, indicating that there is an elevated concourse between street and platform level. Pedestrian access to the station is aided through walkways above Sheikh Zayed Road, connecting to developments on either side of the road.
