During the Covid-19 pandemic, farms struggled to adapt, with millions of pounds of food wasted that would typically have gone to restaurants, hotels and schools. Meanwhile, mile-long lines at food banks illustrated the country’s increasing food insecurity. The Farmlink Project was born from the idea of connecting farms to communities, and redistributing surplus food -- feeding families, preventing food waste, and even reducing carbon emissions by up to 9%. So far they’ve moved over 10 million pounds of food.
