Are the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x the best over-the-ear headphones? Well, in my opinion, they might!

At just under 150$, the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Headphones are one of the best headphones in the market today. They create an incredible listening experience with rich details and vibrant sounds. Yet, I wonder who are they actually for? To answer this, I tested different scenarios. 

As I tend to edit tons of videos, I had to test the ATH-M50x’s sound mixing capabilities. I was surprised as its frequency responses performed at a wide range. The headphones are amazing thanks to their unbiased sound profile which balances all responses accurately. This results in a more exciting and colorful sound profile that is perfect for editing your favorite videos or podcasts. Now, if you are more into DJing, I am glad to inform you that the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x Headphones provide adequate noise isolation so you can play your favorite mixes at any gig you perform in. 

Talking about its design, the M50x’s are both portable and though; making them perfect for your everyday commute or for just listening to music at home. Their media performance is impressive as you’ll get a flat sound profile for all music genres but will get the most out of them with low-end genres. In terms of movies Audio - Technica did a great job, as you’ll get well-balanced dialogue that will immerse you in your favorite media. The only downside here is that the sound stage is not as wide as with other headphones, but still, you’ll get a beautiful sense of immersion. 

So, who are they actually for? Well, I would recommend the Audio-Technica ATH-M50x if you want a relatively unbiased sound experience with a flat EQ. If wired headphones and no mic are no problem for you, these headphones will give you the best music listening experience you can get!
