Combine mooring windlass is a shipboard machine which be used to lift anchor and at the same time with mooring purpose. It is driven with different power, which could be means by electric combined windlass mooring winch, hydraulic combined windlass mooring winch or diesel combined windlass mooring winch. In many design worldwide, it is with some configuration designed as single combined windlass mooring winch or symmetric combined windlass mooring winch as follows:

a) Single electric combined windlass mooring winch
b) Symmetric electric combined windlass mooring winch
c) Single hydraulic combined windlass mooring winch
d) Symmetric hydraulic combined windlass mooring winch

The Marine hydraulic combined windlass mooring winches consists of hydraulic motor, mooring drum, gypsy wheel, warping head, clutch, brake and power pack unit (which include hydraulic pumps, electric motors, oil tank, pipes and valves etc). The Electric combined windlass mooring winches be driven by electric motor with gear box. There is no hydraulic power pack unit on this type of configuration.

The combined windlass mooring can be designed with local control and or with remote control in wheel house.
