This is me and my friend shopping and showing you the worlds biggest mall! (so far) current location: Edmonton,Alberta,Canada! We go here ALL the time and could practically sleep walk through the mall! It is HUGE and we are very greatful to be blessed with this HUMUNGOUS mall!
BTW i made the review below so ya enjoy!:
West Edmonton Mall WEM for short, opened on September 15th 1981. It has been expanded three times in: 1983, 1985 and 1999. In those years phases 2,3 and 4 were opened and expanded to the mall. In 2005 West Edmonton Mall was titled North America's largest mall. It has over 600 stores, restaurants and other services and attractions. It cost over 1.2 billion to build and it covers 500,000 m2 (5.3 million ft2). Throughout the mall there are 7 major attractions. One is its indoor amusment park: Galaxyland. Though Galaxyland wasn't always the name. It was named Fantasyland until Disneyland took the mall to court. So they took the name and the hotel carried it on (with hotel at the end of course). WEM also has an indoor waterpark. The Deap Sea adventure is another water follow up starring sea lions, a submarine ride, bumper water boats (that squirt water) and a replica of Christopher Columbus' Santa Maria. West Edmonton Mall features a variety of world cultural stores and restaurants. One MAJOR attraction is China Town. China Town is jam packed with items from China itself from food to shopping to clothes china town is the place to be if you're looking for some cultural fun! Bourbon Street features over a dozen restaurants. From Boston Pizza, to Baskin Robins, to The Old Spaghetti Factory Bourbon Street is THE place to eat. Of course if you want your fast foods for an on the the go shopping day you could visit the two food courts! West Edmonton Mall was the location for the running feature film: Christmas In Wonderland! Every time I attend to a movie at WEM's ScotiaBank theatre I watch with a smile as tourists and newcomers scream, ooo, and ahh at Cineplex's dragon. It has been said the dragon show goes on approximately every 20 minutes. It starts with a creepy eerie bell tune. It is then followed minutes later by loud ochestra music made to frighten the guests and grab their attention. Once the music is signaled by one of the bells the dragon appears to come to life. This dragon is of course fake but is secured on a large pole in the middle of the circular shaped concession stand. When he starts to growl everybody flips out their cameras and take shots of the two breaths of real fire that is blown by the dragon. When the mahem stops the music ends with a sort of victory tune and everyone carries on to their movie lines or crying children. There are MANY more things to tell about West Edmonton Mall but that would just take too long. I hope you enjoyed this description of West Edmonton Mall.
Thank you
