Most of the morning I was fishing egg flies with my 7wt 10ft Sage Igniter and landed 5 fish before this river monster. As I'm nymphing out of the corner of my eye I see this monster porpoise...and then again. I turn to my guide, Mike De Rosa and asked for the 6wt 9ft Sage Igniter we rigged as the streamer rod. We were both thinking the same thing. This huge fucking brown porpoised two more times, so I knew his location. Waded upstream and was quarter casting a huge 4 inch olive streamer against the opposite bank with a sinking tip and just letting it swing. On like the 6th cast the fish just inhaled the streamer. I remember just saying...'oh! He's on!!!' Unreal fishing up Lake Ontario tributaries man... Heaven!
