The National Day of the Republic of China, also referred to as Double Ten Day or Double Tenth Day, is the national day that is now held in Taiwan Area of the Republic of China. It commemorates the start of the Wuchang Uprising of 10 October 1911 (10-10 or double ten), which led to the end of the imperial Qing Dynasty and establishment of the Republic of China on 1 January 1912.
The tenth of October or, as it is more commonly known “double ten”, is a holiday in Taiwan which commemorates the start of the 1911 Wuchang Uprising in China. It is a day when Taiwanese pride takes precedence over everything else, and Taiwanese people both at home and abroad celebrate. And like holidays around the world, there’s always something interesting to do.
Watching the Fireworks is the best! This year the Fireworks Display on double ten events happened here in Anping, Tainan. Each year they take place in different location around the country.
