Here I’m adding vertical milling capability to my home-built lathe, again using mostly stuff from the local industrial scrap yard. A rather non conventional design, but for its compact size I think still a nice result. It's powered by a 500W DC motor, with home-build speed controller. The Mill chuck is in line with the lathe chuck centerline and able to move vertically and horizontally for milling slots. Thanks to the many YouTube videos on machining, I was able to quickly get familiar with some milling techniques.
