Why should you choose a Next Generation Carpet Over a Wool carpet? Or why should you choose a woolen fiber over a next generation synthetic?
They are both carpets, and they both do an amazing job. It all depends on what you are looking for. There are a few features and benefits about a woolen fiber, that the next generation synthetics don't have, and vice-versa.
We are here to explain a little bit more in detail about a woolen fiber. These wool fibers are 100% natural , it's starts its life as white, and all the colour that it's being put in the carpet is pushed from the outside in. That's the fundamental colouring process, that happens with the woolen fiber.
There are a few key things about the woolen fibers, that are unique to wool: it's the best thing for asthma, so if you or any member of your family has asthma, the wool fiber is the recommendation, over anything else when it comes to your flooring or your soft floor coverings.
It has a softness about it that is slightly different, it has a different texture and a different feel then your next generation synthetics. One other awesome quality about wool in your colder climates, down the southern states, New Zealand, all these places, they are more inclined to wool, because when it is colder, and in the middle of winter, the flooring stays a lot warmer than your next generation synthetics.
When you're looking for a more natural look, wool is your best choose, because it looks more weathered and has natural characteristics compared to a next generation polyester.
The only downside about wool is that it is more susceptible to fading that a solution dyed, or next generation carpet.
The best thing about next generation polyesters or nylons is they are a little bit more economical in price, you can get a lot more bang for your buck when it comes to your material. For example you could have a 70 oz super thick luxurious next generation polyester carpet and maybe about a 35 or a 50 nylon, for the price of an entry level wool carpet.
The next generation polyesters or nylons are the best for stain resistance and colour fading, and they are more robust fibers.
