Massillon is a city in Stark County, Ohio. Massillon was originally settled in 1812 by Quaker Settlers from Massachusett and Connecticut. Soon after the settlement, the Ohio and Erie Canal began construction of the canal which would connect Lake Erie with the Ohio River which led Massillon to becoming a major port. Steelmaking and fabrication are integral part of Massillons history. Massillon has a great downtown. Lincoln Movie Theater was built in 1915, is thought to be one of the oldest movie house in the county still in operation. The towns nick name is "The City of Champions". The town which has raised more than two dozen professional football players and ten professional base ball stars. Massillon has some great restaurants, and if you are into cars Chloe's Dinner is a great find. With classic cars and great food.
