A video clip of a Pakistani reporter speaking in neck-deep floodwaters has gone viral in the South Asian region this week.
Azadar Hussain, who works for local channel GTV News, had only his head and microphone above water as he reported on the situation on Friday (July 26) afternoon.
Some social media users praised Hussain's dedication.
"That's raising the bar of reporting to infinity and beyond," said Twitter user Shah@hnsshah.
"This is me telling people how I'm drowning in stress and trying to keep my head above water, despite all the cuveballs life is throwing at me," said another, @MahumSardar.
However, a few others were concerned about his safety.
"This clip has gone viral - but jokes aside, it tells us a lot about the way media orgs treat their staff, esp reporters who work in remote areas - assuming that he isn't sitting, this is downright dangerous and I doubt it very much that he gets life insurance from his employer," tweeted @omar_quraishi.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority, 71 people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents across the country in the past month. The meteorological office has predicted that the monsoon currents are expected to spread to central and southern parts of the country over the next two days.
