In this video, I will show you how to download any chinese app such as Douyin on your android phone.
Baidu Search: Tencent App Store 应用宝
First, head over to google play store. Then, search for “Baidu”. This is the chinese equivalent of google in china.
Install it and wait for it to complete. Once it is done, open the Baidu app. Everything is in chinese. Tap on the blue button to agree.
I would disallow phone calls and notifications from the app.
Next you want to search for “Tencent App Store Ying Yong Bao”. I will give you the chinese letters in the video description.
Select the first search result here. You will be prompted to download the app. Click on either of these.
A pop up will show. Tap on the blue button to download. Wait for the download to complete.
Once the installation is done, tap on the blue button again. Google may say it is an unsafe app. In that case, click on more details and select “install anyway”.
Wait for the installation to complete.
You will be using this to download most of the chinese apps.
Now when you return to your home screen, you will see the baidu and tencent app show up. Now open the tencent app.
Tap the blue button to agree. I would disallow notifications.
Once you are in the home page, you may be prompted to pre-install some chinese apps. As you can see, the chinese Tiktok is part of these options.
I would de-select all and choose to only install Tiktok by tapping the blue button.
Alternatively, you can skip this and just type tiktok on the search bar and download from there instead.
Since I already chose to download earlier, it is already ongoing. Wait for it to complete.
Once completed, tap the blue button. You may have to allow the app to install this.
Tap on settings and toggle the button to allow installation.
In my case, my phone scanned the app before allowing it to finish the process.
Upon completion, you can open Chinese tiktok and start browsing. You will need a legit chinese phone number to register though.
