Rat play room tour uploaded March 2018. This is my fairly big walk-in closet that I've turned into a play room for my pet rats. They absolutely love it!! One of the most important things to a rat is to be able to socialize with other rats and to have free Rome time out of the cage for no less than an hour per day, more is ALWAYS better but an hour a day will be fine. I've made sure there are no outlets for them to put their paws in or chew on, no toxic non edible things anywhere in the room, no places where they would get seriously injured if they fell from, nothing to choke on or get tangled in, no places to escape, ect. Please be as detailed as possible when rat proofing any area your rats will be free roaming in. Bathrooms work great as well just make sure they can't squeeze under the door and make sure there is nothing they can get into that would hurt them, trust me if there is something you think they would never be able to reach they will!! It's one of my favorite things to do besides playing and cuddling with them is watching them run around and discover new things in their play room.
