On Sunday 12 June 2022, as part of Steam Incorporated's 50th birthday celebrations, two train excursions were run from Wellington to Woodville return, simultaneously following different routes, in the southern North Island of New Zealand. This video follows heritage NZR diesel locos Da1431 and Da1410 with one train heading up the Hutt Valley and Wairarapa to Woodville, and then the other train hauled by NZR steam locos Ja1271 and Ab608 on its return trip from Woodville back down the Manawatu towards Wellington. There's also footage of shunting and refueling operations in Woodville where the two trains met.
