Have you seen this before?🤔🦷 “Mini Bone Screw” or TAD (Temporary Anchorage Device) is a tiny dental implant that looks like a small screw that's temporarily placed through the gum tissue and into the jawbone. It is commonly used in orthodontic or “braces” treatment to help with certain tooth movement. The TAD is usually removed upon completion of orthodontic treatment!
Patients often ask me if it’s painful, but it’s actually not since we will numb you beforehand. However, discomfort might be felt for a day or two but it will usually go away in a short while. Hope you learned something new! 🤗
