(19 Apr 2019) Supporters of Aleksandar Vucic began to gather Friday outside the Serbian parliament building in Belgrade, ahead of a major rally by the country's president.
Serbia's populist president Vucic has organised the rally to counter months of anti-government protests demanding his resignation, free elections and media freedoms.
One of the supporters called him "the best man for Serbia," while another maintained Serbia was the "happiest country in the world."
Meanwhile on Wednesday, Serbia sought to secure a greater Russian role in European Union-mediated talks with the former province of Kosovo, which could further strain the Balkan country's relations with the West.
