Department of Botany Was established in 1952 at St. Joseph’s College, Bengaluru-27. Post Graduate & Research Centre was Started in 1986. The Department is Responsible for Establishing the Departments of Environmental Science, Microbiology & Biotechnology in St. Joseph’s College. There has been a paradigm shift in Pedagogy. We have changed from Qualitative approach to Quantitative approach. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of time, industry, competitive examination and environmental concerns. Besides conventional plant sciences the syllabus includes Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biostatistics & Bioinformatics.
