Follow these steps to create pumpkin-shaped sourdough bread:
1. Cut four equal-length threads and place them on top of the bread basket (with the dough still in it).
2. Flip the basket and place the dough on parchment paper or a baking mat.
3. Remove any excess flour from the surface of the dough and apply fresh flour (I tend to use rice flour for better contrast).
4. Loosely tie the strings so that they all meet in the middle of the dough.
5. Score your desired pattern.
6. Bake as usual as soon as you're done with the scoring.
This sourdough bread was made using 70% white bread flour and 30% wholemeal flour, with 85% hydration.
