French President Emmanuel #Macron and German Chancellor Angela #Merkel are to hold a virtual defence and security council meeting on Friday, with the Russian crackdown on opposition expected to be addressed between the two leaders. It will be their first official meeting since Joe #Biden became US President and took a strong stance towards diplomacy, but the two leaders have different opinions on tensions with Russia, as FRANCE 24’s Philip Turle analyses.
