After making this video, on every single YouTube video, there has been a Masterclass ad. ...They're always watching....!
Masterclass: Spilling the tea.
I may have mainly laid out the negatives of masterclass in the video, but I want to make it clear I love the way it's shot, I love the style of the artwork, I love how passionate some of these 'masters' are at their craft, and I love they want to share it with people. I just think the hefty price is paying for the famous name rather than the lessons and advice... SOMETIMES. In any case, I know some people came to this video to make a decision on whether to get masterclass or not, so keeping in mind this is subjective, here is some reasons to get a masterclass all-access pass:
- If you really love the work of a lot of people who have classes
- If you are in university and you have lots of university friends who would share the price with you
- If you choose this as your main present for a birthday or Christmas
Here are some reasons not to get a all-access pass to masterclass:
- If you only want to do like one class
- If you want to get a career in a certain field and you're looking for answers
- If you are already a professional in a certain field
Finally, some advice from me to you if you cant afford masterclass:
- Study the work that you love from the people you admire, analyse why it's good and what you can learn from them
- Watch interviews from the people you look up to
- Read their works as much as you can
- Talk about your work with other people to get feedback
- Practice what you want to be good at!
I know again just like masterclass, a lot of this is obvious, but let me tell you Masterclass won't give you a magic answer to all your career problems!
Nevertheless after saying that, I do recommend masterclass for those who can afford it. That's all I have to say, but feel free to comment and ask any questions :)
