During the winter of 2015–2016, more than 20 Pacific fishers have been released in Washington’s Cascades by the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife, Mount Rainier National Park and Conservation Northwest. Fishers on the West Coast are proposed for endangered species protection now, thanks to our petition and litigation.

The Center for Biological Diversity is a 501c3 nonprofit headquartered in Tucson, Arizona. At the Center, we believe that the welfare of human beings is deeply linked to nature — to the existence in our world of a vast diversity of wild animals and plants. Because diversity has intrinsic value, and because its loss impoverishes society, we work to secure a future for all species, great and small, hovering on the brink of extinction.
