By 2022, Nestlé plans to give away 12 million higher-yield disease-resistant cocoa trees to cocoa farmers on the Ivory Coast.
With these plans, Nestlé will improve farmers' lives and ensuring a sustainable cocoa supply. This will address the underlying issue of child labor which is still rife across the cocoa industry, as a more sustainable supply chain will help stop the illegal activity of child labor.
