After a long wait finally we got our treat in the form of one of the oldest working Wammies of Indian Railways and that too in the golden evening sunshine :)
Manufactured on 02-07-1977, WCR's Itarsi based WAM-4 #20625 appears out of the bushes into open green fields with the 4hrs late running 12920 Jammu Tawi - Indore Malwa Express in tow, thanks to the typical north Indian winter fog!
Sad but the truth is, this locomotive is finally withdrawn from service in June 2015 after serving for 38 Years for Indian Railways.
Hats off to the CLW Engineers who made such a robust and versatile locomotive which hauled trains of various categories throughout the country before the introduction of WAP-1/WAP-4/WAP-5/WAP-7 class.
Enjoy the double-tone honking show through the lush green fields near Indore.
