Open Enrollment is underway – this is the chance for people to buy health insurance for the new year. The annual window to buy or switch plans opened November 1, 2024, and runs until January 15, 2025. But the first major deadline is approaching: Enroll by December 15, 2024 for coverage that starts January 1, 2025. If you wait to enroll for the first time until after December 15, your coverage will start February 1, 2025. We review how to apply, where to find help, and explain auto-renewals as a back-up option.
