This is a film of my visit to the Manchester Museum of Transport which held its "Transpo 50" event to celebrate 50 years since the formation of the Passenger Transport Executive in 1969 which brought together the county's bus and rail operators aiming to improve integration and led to the introduction of a new orange and white livery for its buses.

The films starts at the museum with some of the visiting buses arriving and then buses departing on the Centreshuttle 4 service which was operating a 20 minute service from the museum and Corporation Street in the centre of Manchester. The vehicle collections can be seen which include buses from the local corporations, a horse drawn tram and trolley buses. The
museum also has a collection of bus related documents, books and brochures, bus signs and ticketing equipment and a remarkable collection of old bus uniforms. It is really worth a visit if you are in the area. The latter part of the film includes trips on 5871 and SELNEC 7001 which are featured in Manchester.
Special thanks to all those who worked so hard to bring us this most enjoyable event which was appreciated by everyone who went. Not forgetting the visiting bus owners.
