University of Sheffield Brass Band performs Prismatic Light (Alan Fernie) at UniBrass 2021. The band came 6th in the contest.

The University of Sheffield Brass Band (USBB) are delighted to be hosting UniBrass 2021 and excited to be able to have a contest this year! The band was set-up in 2013 as an all-inclusive, non-audition ensemble with members from both the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University. Our members study a wide range of subjects, from the arts to the sciences; USBB has a diverse collection of enthusiastic players with a true love for brass banding. USBB are proud to be the current (and longest ever) holders of the UniBrass Shield!

Over Lockdown, we kept going - creating distance banding videos, a track for UniBrass: The Lockdown Collection and entering the Cory Online Contest, as well as hosting weekly socials and online events. We are pleased to have been recently awarded Sheffield Students' Union "Most Innovative Society of the Year" 2020-21.

UniBrass 2021 was the first in-person brass band contest in the UK following the Covid-19 pandemic and was hosted outdoors by the University of Sheffield Brass Band.
