Each year more than 1.3 million people die and up to 50 million people are injured as a result of road crashes around the world.
The 2017 Road Safety Week focuses on speed. Regardless of the cause of a crash, impact speeds always decides the crash outcome. The faster the vehicle strikes a pedestrian, the faster a vehicle occupants collides with the interior of a crashing car, the faster the motor cyclist strikes a roadside object, the more injury results. Reducing speed is critical to improving road safety.
This Global Road Safety Week we call on all people to Slow Down to Save Lives.
