Politically unaligned economist Javier Milei has become Argentina’s President following the country’s worst economic crisis in two decades.
One of Milei’s key policies is to convert the nation’s currency from the peso to the US dollar to address the nation’s 150 per cent inflation.
Milei believes the peso is not worth "excrement" and said it is crazy for locals to save in pesos
If Milei makes the change - Argentina will emulate Ecuador, which dumped its currency 23 years ago for the greenback.
Javier Milei also wants to shut down the country’s central bank – the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic.
